Shamal Foundation was born out of a deep belief in the importance of providing a safe humanitarian environment for children from separated families, protecting them from the negative effects of parental separation, preventing the child from being exposed to an environment that negatively affects him while seeing one of his parents, protecting him from domestic violence, and providing family counseling for his parents to deal with him in light of the separation. The idea was born when the need arose for a specialized entity that takes into account family privacy and reduces the tensions that may accompany a child's vision of his or her parents; turning the experience into an organized, supportive, and reassuring process.
Genesis and idea
Visitation rulings for children of separated or disputing families in custody are usually carried out in police stations, making the experience confusing and psychologically stressful for children rather than a calm and relaxing family reunion.

Contributing to family reconciliation
Shaml Foundation centers contribute to supporting reconciliation paths between family members through reformers accredited by the Ministry of Justice who seek family reform and its means, and when the two parties agree on any amendment related to custody or visitation rulings - such as changing delivery dates, the number of visitation days or places of implementation - this is documented through the "Taradi" platform to become an official reconciliation document with the consent of both parties, ensuring the rights of all and enhancing family stability.

The Social Feasibility of Shaml
Based on an impact study conducted by Human Centered Report on one of Shamal Foundation's centers in Jeddah, which showed that for every 1 riyal pumped into the initiative and its centers, 2.1 riyals are returned to the community.

One of the most prominent positive effects of Shamal Foundation's centers is the improvement of children's academic level as a result of the support provided by psychologists and social workers through counseling sessions for children and their families, as the presence of a safe environment and specialized professional containment supports their sense of security and psychological stability.
